Traditional Swing Analysis

Our traditional swing lesson—the basic swing analysis—involves a one-hour session with the instructor on the driving range or practice greens and includes range balls.  Our instructor will analyze your swing from two different angles, set a goal for the lesson, assign drills where applicable and monitor your swing progress throughout the lesson.

If you are a first-time student with O. Henry Golf, you can expect the following:

  • An interview to assess the status of your game and goals
  • A discussion of any physical limitations that you may be experiencing
  • A gradual warm-up, hitting balls and getting comfortable on the range
  • Your swing analyzed from two different angles
  • A goal established for that particular lesson
  • A game plan for the next step to ensure your steady progress

Video Analysis

Our full video analysis offers a one-hour session utilizing one of the most advanced video training systems in the world, Dartfish Video Software, used by Lance Armstrong, the U. S. Olympic teams, and many other professional athletes.  For students who may be more visually-oriented in their learning style, video technology represents the best method for faster results.  Please click here for more detailed information about Dartfish Video Software.

Our instructor will capture a number of recorded swings from two different angles.  You will be able to watch the video immediately, use this automatic feedback as a means for understanding necessary changes and instantly begin to work on those areas of improvement.  Through analysis of your video, our instructor will utilize drawing tools to compare your current technique to the proper positions and movements that should be occurring.  A series of practice drills will be assigned, more practice balls hit, and your swing is ready once again to be videotaped for more instant feedback.

And the best part is….we’ll email you the video lesson clip, including the drawing tool notations so that you may study, analyze and break down your own swing at your leisure.  Saving the clips will also provide you with a swing library which will document your improvement over time.

Course Management/Playing Lessons

Let’s face it, sometimes your “driving range” swing is not the swing that you bring with you on the course.  By scheduling a playing lesson—a session that takes place on the golf course—our instructor will be able to determine if any old habits are resurfacing in your swing, or if perhaps your course management skills are lacking.  Executing a golf shot involves not just the correct swing techniques, but also the proper judgment in club selection and playing percentages.  Get some real world advice on the true playing field when you sign up for one of these sessions.

You have the option to select either a one-hour on-course lesson or a full 9-hole lesson, approximately 2.5 hours.  Nine-hole playing lessons are based on tee time availability and additional golf fees (paid directly to the course) may apply.

ProLooper Golf Game Analysis

For those already utilizing ProLooper software to track their personal playing statistics—we provide a convenient way to incorporate those results into a lesson plan.  Bring us your stats, we will analyze the results, uncover your game's deficiencies, and focus on those particular weaknesses which may be costing you valuable strokes on the course.  Once we discern those areas that need the most help, we can then select a topic for your lesson and work together to produce a quick turnaround.  Once you've had an opportunity to fine tune a specific area, you can continue to use the software to monitor your progress and see the results of your effort.
